My wife had a crazy idea come to her in the middle of the night. She shot out of bed like a rocket and darted out of the room. I had no idea what was going on, only half realising what was happening. I must have fallen back to sleep because I woke up in the morning to her making noises in the garden. When I went downstairs to say good morning to my wife, all the contents from the tool shed were out, and being put into boxes. Confused, I walked over to my wife and asked her what was going on. She told me she had come up with a brilliant plan to have the garden landscaped. I had no idea what she was talking about, or why that idea would have come to her in the middle of the night.
When I asked my wife why she had wanted to get the landscaping done, she told me she had come up with a brilliant design in a dream. My wife has always been eccentric, it’s part of the reason why I fell for her. Now that the warm weather was upon us it would not be long before we could enjoy the seed potatoes we planted months ago
It wasn’t a big surprise to me that a dream inspired this latest project. Apparently we were now getting a new garden. Local landscapers were being contacted and budgets planned. I wondered if my wife’s idea was a smart move but kept it to myself.
It had taken a long time to decide on which plants and flowers to put in the yard. It took even longer for my wife to work out the arrangement of the garden, we had many tense discussions on where to put the Magnolias. I felt very strongly about putting the flowering trees near the back of the yard so that there was plenty of space for them to grow. My wife wanted the magnolias along the side of the house, even though we would have to prune them constantly to make sure they didn’t get too close to the windows.
My wife didn’t speak to me for a week, I learned a valuable lesson in that time, “yes dear”. Whenever my wife wants to do something now I chant my mantra “yes dear” and everyone is happy. The old me would have had a problem with sudden renovations, I know better than to try and argue reason with my wife. I love her to bits but she is not what you would call a reasonable person. I just hope the landscapers know better than to try and argue.
